European Kobudo Championships — Malta 2023

International Ryukyu Kobudo Championship and Training Event

An international championship and educational training event in Ryukyu Kobudo, bringing together athletes and practitioners of traditional Okinawan weapons from various European countries. The event is held under the auspices of the Ryukyu Kobudo Hozon Shinko Kai (Okinawa, Japan) and is dedicated to promoting Kobudo culture, improving technical standards, and establishing unified principles of safety and judging.

What to Expect:

• Competitive performances (weapons kata in the appropriate categories);
• Demonstration performances and master sessions;
• Technical guidance on weapons handling (control, distance, and timing);
• Referees’ briefing and explanation of judging criteria;
• Practical advice on competition preparation, presentation, and safety.

Who Can Participate:

Practitioners of various skill levels — from students with basic experience to athletes preparing for international competitions. Prior registration is recommended.
